StitchFun News is a daily newsletter of beautiful ads from some of the best embroidery designers and suppliers on the Internet. Subscribers receive an email link to the page of ads. Their email boxes are not cluttered with a large email of graphic and text.
The concept is simple. If a customer stitches a well-crafted design and uses quality supplies, she is likely to buy more. If she is frustrated by a shoddy design or inferior thread, she may never buy again. By advertising together, we should all increase our sales.
You have been in business for a while. You have lots of wonderful older designs or embroidery supplies that are hard to advertise. The StitchFun News is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on those items.
can my ads be included in the StitchFun News?
Space is not available for new part-time or full-time advertisers at this time.
Single ads may be submitted at a special rate for embroidery conferences, conventions or seminars. You will need to supply an attractive image for your ad and logo.
Advertisers in the StitchFun News have been selling on the Internet for at least a year, offer designs that are hand digitized (no auto-digitized designs), emphasize quality over quantity (no subscription club sites or "buy it cheap" sites), and provide outstanding customer service. Graphic images should be actual stitch-outs or photos and not software-generated images (customers like to know the designer has actually test-stitched the design). Designs should be mostly original or exclusive artwork, not clipart commonly used by multiple designers. If this sounds like you, please send an email to Mary Jane at firstname.lastname@example.org.
are the rules for advertising in the StitchFun News?
You may advertise a new design, a sale, an old design or embroidery supplies (must be embroidery-related). You may only advertise for your own site. You may not advertise for a mall, a group of digitizers, or for any other site but your own. If you sell through a mall, your links must all point to your own section of the mall.
are the advertiser's responsibilities?
Advertisers are responsible for submitting ads. You will need to submit a logo that will appear above your ad each day.
Full-time advertisers a new ad (text, link and graphic) for each issue. Full-time advertisers are expected to submit a new ad every single day, with no repeated images within a 7-day period. Ads are submitted by email before noon the day before publication.
The total ad space is 350 pixels high by 700 pixels wide, with graphic and text side-by-side. Images may be up to 350 pixels high. The wider the image, the less space is left for text. Please use third-person when composing an ad so that readers will not be confused (trust me on this one!). Your ad may be edited to fit the space available.
Images should be actual stitch-outs or photos of completed projects. The StitchFun News is meant to be a visual treat. This is an opportunity to show the detail and appeal of your designs. Computer-generated graphics are not allowed.
As an advertiser, you are asked to announce the StitchFun News through your own Yahoo Group, forum or newsletter. You are also asked to place the StitchFun News logo and link on your home page.
will my ad appear in the StitchFun News?
Ads will be arranged alphabetically by site name. Each day, the ads will rotate, so that the site with the first ad will fall to the end of the StitchFun News. By keeping the ads in the same relative order, customers will easily find ads for their favorite sites.
The StitchFun News is open to a limited number of advertisers. Your ads will be showcased in an appealing format, alongside ads from an elite group of designers and suppliers. Each advertiser is allowed one ad per day.
much does it cost?
Full-time advertisers pay $20.00 per month for daily ads submitted by the advertiser. There are no part-time options for self-submitted ads. You are expected to submit an ad for every day of the year. Ads are sent by email by noon the day before publication.
If you prefer to have Mary Jane compose your ads for you each day, the monthly fee is $75.00. Part-time advertisers pay $40.00 per month for 4 ads per week, composed by Mary Jane. The monthly fee is $40.00.
There is also a $10.00 set-up fee (a one-time fee). No long-term contracts. Your first three ads are free, to give you a chance to decide if the StitchFun News is right for you.
Single ads may be purchased to advertise a conference, convention or seminar. The first ad is $5.00, then each additional ad within a calendar month is $2.00, with a maximum charge of $12.00 for up to 8 ads (2 per week). The set-up fee is waived for these ads.
You will be charged the monthly fee for the month that you begin (pro-rated). Each month you will be billed automatically through your credit card. If you cancel your advertising membership, you will not be reimbursed for the remainder of the month.
There is no fee to subscribe to the StitchFun News.
