More Placement Help |
|
First, here is a tip from Lydia C.: If the shirt is for someone else, borrow friends, their husbands or their children as models for placement help. It's pretty easy to find the center of the front of a sweatshirt, but where is the "left chest"? When a shirt is spread flat, you might think the best place would be halfway between the center and the side of the shirt, but when you put that shirt on, the design ends up practically under your arm (ask me how I know!). If the shirt has a left pocket, the design should be embroidered right above the pocket. A 4-inch design should be centered about 2-1/4" above the pocket, and a 2-inch design should be centered about 1-1/2" above the pocket. If there is no pocket, for an adult size large shirt, measure 3-3/4" to the left of the center front and 8" down from the shoulder seam. This is most easily done by using two rulers. Mark this point with a pair of crossed straight pins, or a little sticker with a dot to mark the center. Embroider the design centered over the crossed pins or the dot on the sticker.
